During reinspection, previously identified defects are reviewed against the original findings. Where appropriate, repaired components are visually reassessed and functional defects are tested again.
The process is therefore:
Original finding → Rectification → Verification
A defect should not simply be marked "fixed" because a contractor has worked on it. The result should be reassessed to determine whether the original issue has actually been addressed.

Inspection Limitations
Professional methodology also requires clear limits.
A standard property inspection depends on accessibility, connected utilities, operating systems, weather, safety conditions and the agreed inspection scope.
